Enjoy a round of golf in the winter
Simply because it is cold does not mean that you can not play golf. Many of my golf pleasant moments came during the playing of golf or skiing in winter. I lived in Indiana for about 12 years. For 10 years I have lived in West Lafayette, only 120 miles from Chicago, IL. most, especially for a golf season is from April to early October. The only month I did not like was the golfJanuary! Many of the local people ventured south to the winter for a few weeks away, but I never did.
I was a member of the Moose Country Club in West Lafayette. The moose, the members had a relatively short but very tight course with tree-lined fairways. We played with a regular quarter. We played normally on Thursday and Saturday and Sunday. We had a great time. One group had a three handicap, I had my 10, another guy had a 12 and our SeniorStatesman was relatively higher. We golfed together a lot, 'and then went home to do our homework is to farm or honey.
But I digress ... Back to winter golf. In the first part of the case, we had a real hand "rule." Why so many leaves have fallen on the floor, positioning on the disk could be problematic, so to be honest, we declared a ball dropped leaves only a "hand ball" and incurred no penalty strokes.
AfterTemperatures were down 30 and 40, there would often be alone on the field. After waiting (at the urging of the expert), disappears for all the frost out of the actual green and plays on the number of hole 1 3 We played the first concavity, which is typical in this way. In Section 4, we would like to move in the opposite direction on the tenth fairway to 11 Go Green. We all are not on the first fairway About the wood on the fairway # 10, above the stream andThe trees on the 11th Green. It 'was a 7-iron for me and other clubs set their selection was consistent. Usually one of us could at least hit the green. And the rest of the holes, we zig-zag back and forth around the back nine. We have never been able to use the golf tees in the majority of products by some par-4 par 5 and some other creative move.
A very interesting thing that I learned to see if it is once again our friends to visit several years after movingaway, I discovered that they had changed the hole rounds of 17 to meet the winter we had used in our way. # 17 was a long par 4 and the shot was obviously a nice walk # 16 is green. Instead of walking all that distance, we would be well below the usual T-shirt and then tee-old is # 17 of dogleg holes and very difficult to stop. I found, as it turned out, had moved the tee shot to about anywhere where we had our first played golf.
MyDays of life in West Lafayette was in 1982 when IBM transferred me and my family in Louisiana. However, they are still in sight of the days of golf, with a time of remembrance of love. It was there I had a hole-in-one, but it was also the place where we diverted to the normal path and played our brand of winter golf. For those of you stuck in the ice of the explosions were the North, not only in California sitting Attention golf tournaments, the use of poles and testWinter golf. You just might find you like. I know, left-handed golfers!
